Nestled in the dense forests of the Pilis Mountains, on the heights of Dobogókő with its unique atmosphere, lies the Cardoner Hotel and Conference Center. In the ancient forest park surrounding the hotel, the silence is almost palpable, and hiking trails start right next to the hotel, leading to the Pilis’s wonderful viewpoints. The wellness area offers views of the forest canopy, and relaxing in the outdoor Finnish sauna and tub bath is a particularly magical experience in the mountain air. Egerbakta, a quiet village at the foot of the Bükk Mountains, boasts peat-moss bogs – a natural treasure considered rare even in Europe. The lakes are about a one-and-a-half-hour walk from the Ezererdő Guesthouse, but you can enjoy the proximity of the forest even while staying at the guesthouse. The rooms open onto the forest, so you can immerse yourself in birdsong and the scent of the woods even while having breakfast. The park features a terrace suitable for barbecuing and building fires, as well as a garden pond (please check the rules regarding their use, keeping in mind the fire ban), and the surrounding area offers numerous sports opportunities for those seeking active recreation.

In Dobogókő – considered Hungary’s ancient spiritual center and situated atop the Visegrád plateau – you can experience the close-to-nature atmosphere offered by the yurt, the traditional dwelling of our ancestors. The open, spacious interior, the lightweight structure that blends into nature, and the natural materials used in construction all help you merge with the surrounding environment. In the yurts, which accommodate up to 8 people, you can even sleep in a sleeping bag if you prefer not to use bedding. At this year-round accommodation, guests are never paired with strangers, and the yurts can even be heated with wood-burning stoves. There is electricity and lighting on the premises, while the bathrooms – including modern, salt-brick men’s and women’s showers and washrooms – are located in a separate building. Discounted meals are available at the Zsindelyes Restaurants, designed by Imre Makovecz, located on the grounds of the yurt accommodation.

Located at the eastern gateway to Lake Balaton, the Kenese Bay Garden Resort & Conference offers a relaxing environment right on the waterfront; the property features vast green spaces and its own stretch of beach. In addition to the clean, spacious rooms, the resort also features a restaurant with panoramic views and a wellness area. The Őrség region is a popular destination for nature-oriented travel. Here, within the Őrség National Park in Kercaszomor, four different cottages await visitors to Kerca Bio Farm. The nearly 15-hectare equestrian estate is located right on the edge of the forest, along the banks of the Kerca Stream. Among other things, the farm breeds Andalusian horses, and guests can participate in caring for the animals, as well as enjoy horseback riding and carriage rides. There are a total of 9 rental properties on the farm: family cabins suitable for up to 8 people, houses with saunas for 6–8 people, romantic forest cabins primarily for couples, and a cozy trailer situated on the edge of the forest. For families, there are numerous games and child-friendly activities available on this wonderful little estate, including a movie theatre, a relaxation area, and a sports field.
