Bőszénfa Deer Farm – Walking with deer in the “forest land”
The Bőszénfa Deer Farm, the largest deer farm in Hungary, which is open all year round, is located in the heart of the Zselic forests in the rolling landscape of Somogy county. On the 1,336-hectare area, eight game species and eleven domesticated species can be observed; including fallow deer, red deer, horses, mouflons and wild boars. Visitors can wander through the park on a designated route, while gaining insight into the daily lives of more than a hundred animals.
There is also a guided tour on weekends: as part of the Walking with deer programme, you can enter the red deer garden accompanied by an expert, which is an amazing experience!

The farm's speciality is that you can admire the deer up close: the animals, most of whom are raised here, are accustomed to human presence, so they venture quite close.
If you get hungry after hiking, you do not have to go far. The Zselicvad Restaurant belongs to the farm, where you can taste the treasures of the forest: mushrooms, game meats and fruits that can be collected in Zselic. If you are planning a multi-day trip, you can rest in the Zselicvad Guest-house, which can accommodate 17 people. The area attracts nature lovers with countless attractions and hiking trails, including the Katica-Tanya in Patca, the Szenna Open-air Museum, the Ropolyi Lake and the Zselic Star Park.
Bükkösd Ecopark – Close-to-nature relaxation among wildlife
The Ecopark, located on the border of Bükkösd in Baranya County, is a magical, close-to-nature realm. In the special park of László and Mónika Baksa, sheep, fallow deer, goats, mouflons, roe deer, donkeys, deer and wild boars live, which you can venture quite close to, what is more, you can even pet some of the animals. In the game park and game garden, you can also observe native Hungarian domestic animals: various aquatic and terrestrial birds, as well as large game species found in our country. This experience alone makes it worth visiting Bükkösd, but the wonderland offers much more than that. We warmly recommend the petting zoo, forest programmes and horseback riding opportunities for families and groups, and you can also book the venue for team building, weddings or other events.

The park has its own guest-houses, and you can even sleep in a yurt! The Bükkösd Ecopark also includes the Galagonya Restaurant, which serves home-style cuisine. From its terrace, you can enjoy a meal while watching the majestic deer strolling by!
BükkForYou – Authentic retreat with fallow deer
On the border of the Bükk National Park, in the northern part of Tard, there is a real wonderland. The 3-room, renovated farmhouse lies in the gentle lap of nature, far from the noise of big cities. The cottage, which can accommodate up to 9 people, also has a jacuzzi and sauna, but the biggest attraction is the family of fallow deer grazing in the approximately 8,000 square metre area belonging to the guest-house. On the deer farm, you can observe the everyday life of the forest dwellers up close, and you can even feed the fallow calves yourself, if you are lucky. In addition, there are countless programme options in the area for nature lovers: you can learn about the tradition of matyó embroidery, go hiking in the Bükk, or take a sightseeing walk in the historic old town of Eger. The nearby Szilvásvárad, with its Szalajka Valley waterfall and the cave of the prehistoric man, is a popular excursion destination, and the panorama from the Millennium Lookout is also unmissable.

Szarvaskút Guest Park – White fallow deer feeding, combined with wellness
Szarvaskút Guest Park is located in the heart of the Bakony, near Zirc, and it is a real treasure for nature lovers, dreamed up by Martina Szitó, Ákos Bognár and Tibor Répás, the hotel manager. The park offers a variety of accommodation options: the adult-friendly Bakony Resort is an excellent choice for couples looking for peace and quiet, while the child-friendly Szarvaskút Hotel is an excellent choice for families. For those who prefer a more intimate retreat, we warmly recommend the cosy guest-houses. In addition to the friendly, modern rooms, there is a separate family-friendly and “adult only” wellness area at both ends of the park – but the real attraction is the fenced-in fallow farm in the park. Here, you can meet the beautiful brown, white and black deer up close. Visitors can feed the animals themselves, which is an amazing experience for both young and old.

There are many other attractions in the area: the abbey and arboretum in Zirc, the Pannon Observatory in Bakonybél, and the romantic gorge valley of the Cuha stream is a hiker's paradise. The Kőris Hill lookout tower also offers a magnificent view of the entire Bakony.
