Wherever you travel in the country, the trademark makes it easy to find high-quality places, including beaches.
Wherever you travel in the country, the trademark makes it easy to find high-quality places, including beaches.
"Under the auspices of the trademark system, we examine the attractions in the same spirit"

 – we learned from Dr. Zsófia Liziczayné Dr. Kovács, the managing director of the Hungarian Tourism Quality Certification Board, who is responsible for the certification. – The attraction certification is carried out in 8 categories nationwide. These include waterfront beaches (both paid and free), castles and chateaux, spas, adventure and wellness baths and health resorts. Our aim is to highlight places that offer a high level of service and a unique tourist experience. The trademark is a sure point of reference for tourists, a guarantee of high quality operations, a varied programme of activities and attractive recreational and cultural opportunities. See which beaches have won the highest rating so far!

Balatonfüred boasts 2 beaches in this category.

Esterházy Beach and Adventure Baths

In the heart of the town, next to the famous Tagore promenade, lies the upscale beach of Balatonfüred, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of Tihany and premium services such as double sunbathing piers over the water, a built-in pool with a water park, or fitness and aqua fitness classes.

If you get hungry while swimming, try the light summer dishes, street food style burgers or BBQ ribs at the Enni jó Bistro on the beach!

Kisfaludy Beach

In the eastern part of Balatonfüred, with 40.000 m2 of water and a beach with huge trees and colourful flowers, Kisfaludy Beach is waiting for us. Its special feature is the “Experience Island” water slide park, where you can choose between water slides of different speeds and gradients, but also water and land volleyball courts, beach football and handball courts, as well as a pair of gates for hitting the ball with your head, for active fun. If you are coming with small children, you will appreciate the well-equipped baby/mum room.

Diási Játékstrand (‘Playing Beach in Diás’)

In the western basin of Lake Balaton, in Gyenesdiás, the Játék (lit. ‘Playing’) Beach won the five-star rating. In the neighbourhood of Keszthely you will find Diási Játékstrand, known for its child- and family-friendly design and services. Here you will find a free giant slide, a natural children’s paddling bay, daily summer play activities, sports fields, free parking and family-friendly changing rooms and toilets.

Not to be missed on the way back from the beach is the Bringatanya (lit. ‘Bike Farm’), where you can choose from a selection of award-winning, locally made ice creams from spring to autumn at the Somogyi ice cream workshop, right next to the Balaton Round-Trip Bike Trail.

Községi Strand – Municipal Beach

On the south shore, the beach of Balatonberény was the first to earn the highest trademark qualification. We are welcomed by a friendly atmosphere and a carefully designed bathing area, where the needs of all age groups are taken into account. The spacious area is home to a large sunbathing pier area overlooking the water, a shaded paddling area for the little ones, several sports fields and a free built swimming pool. Free parking, e-bike and mobile phone charging stations are also available. The unrivalled panorama of the Badacsony Hill and the surrounding volcanic peaks is just icing on the cake.

After a full day at the beach, you will enjoy a Neapolitan-style pizza at A Pizza Sztori in the neighbouring town of Balatonmáriafürdő!

Sugovica Open Beach

The first five-star beach on the Danube can be found in Baja. Opposite Petőfi Island, just a stone’s throw from the city centre, you will find the open-air beach of Baja, where you can enjoy the fresh waters of the Danube in safe, shallow waters thanks to the Sugovica side branch. A special feature of the beach is the cable track “sliding tower”, from which, if you are really brave, you can slide across to the island opposite. If you are looking for a gentler experience, just enjoy the water and the sun on the piers or the manicured lawns of the beach.

In Baja, good fish soups can be found in many restaurants, but if you are looking for an exciting new-wave bistro with coffee specialities, charcoal grill oven dishes and a 60-item wine list, this is the place to go: BORBISTRO coffee – kitchen – ham.

Qualifications are ongoing across the country, so the list is growing day by day!
