A “culinary culture shock collective and kitchen” that came into existence to push people out of their culinary comfort zones. At Teyföl, which is “sour cream misspelled” in Hungarian, they believe there’s no such thing as not liking a certain dish or drink, only not having met a properly good version of it. They take traditional Hungarian canteen dishes and give them a fine bistro spin. Their drinks selection comes from Hungarian small producers: kraft gins, locally roasted coffees, and cordials from local farmers. The owners are big craft beer fans, so they pledged that their beer list is always gonna be as long as their wine list. Their interior courtyard with lush green fig trees is a real hideaway spot from the city’s crowded streets. We can leave with dogs, even if we did not bring one, as the walls are decorated with renaissance paintings of shelter dogs waiting for adoption.
