The Pannonhalma Museum is the country's first fragrance museum, where you can learn about the traditions of monastic medicine and the basics of perfumery in an interactive way. They present the history of the five main plants grown in the Medicinal Plant Garden, as well as seven other characteristic, special fragrances, and the products made from them. In the fragrance Museum, all your senses are given a task: you can see, touch, and even sniff the world of sacred and everyday fragrances. You can also view the manuscript recipe collection of the Benedictine pharmacist brother Elek Reisch, who lived in the 1700s. The museum building is located in the Arboretum and Medicinal Plant Garden of the Pannonhalma Archabbey, so you can not only enjoy the fragrances, but also see the herbs themselves.
