Chloé New Yorkban (Chloé in New York)

The name says a lot: Chloé in Mew York suggests guests may find a touch of foreign ambiance here. Prepared from farmers’ high quality ingredients, dishes include savoury creations such as home-made beef consommé and panko crusted chicken. The menu contains interesting vegetarian plates as well, along with heavenly desserts, for example one of the favourite of regulars: the chocolate raspberry soufflé. Guests can enjoy a fairly priced lunch menu on weekdays. In addition, concerts are often held in the evening.

Hedonist

A few years ago, Hedonist opened its doors in the heart of the city centre and has since become one of Nyíregyháza's most popular restaurants. In good weather, it is worth sitting out on the terrace, as the restaurant is located in the middle of a beautiful park, next to the Rózsakert Open-Air Stage and the Zsigmond Móricz Theatre. The restaurant, which serves mainly Mediterranean cuisine, has a seasonally changing menu that is always new for regulars. Made with the finest Italian ingredients, their light and airy sourdough pizzas are baked in a beautiful wood-fired oven, and you can choose from a rich selection of toppings. Don’t miss it!

Cvekedli Pasta Bar

The pasta king of Nyíregyháza was established as a brave undertaking of three young guys who are experts in top gastronomy. The pasta bar was a huge hit with locals from the moment it opened, and the enthusiasm of hungry guests has been unbroken ever since. This is partly thanks to the freshly made dough, which is kneaded and shaped by hand every day. Although a Hungarian cabbage with noodles may seem like a simple and ordinary dish, you can be sure that at Cvekedli you won't find the simple version on your plate. The pasta delicacies made here would be at home in any of the world's great restaurants. And in their open kitchen, you can follow the preparation of your order accompanied by heavenly aromas.

Giri Gyros

In Nyíregyháza, you don't get the gyros in a pita, but in a soft and fluffy crescent roll. This scandalizes almost everyone except the locals, but it is nothing to be afraid of, indeed! Many fast-food restaurants in the city offer this type of food, but Giri Gyros stands out from the rest. With decades of history, the restaurant boasts many returning guests, thanks to its friendly service and delicious food. If you want to try an extra special gyros from Nyíregyháza, you've come to the right place: the liver, bacon, mixed cheese (smoked and Trappist cheese) combo is worth a try. Those who like spicy flavours can choose from a variety of hot sauces to accompany the traditional yoghurt dressing, and you should always ask for the crescent rolls toasted!
