Greenfield Hotel Golf & Spa, Bükfürdő

During school breaks, entertainment programs make family vacations even more memorable. One of the hotel’s unique features is that you can play golf right next door! On one of Hungary’s most unique courses, it’s not just experienced players who can enjoy the sport: it offers a great recreational opportunity for the whole family. Those who haven’t played golf before can take part in their first lesson as part of a family golf taster session.

Art Valley Manor, Kapolcs

Anyone familiar with the country’s oldest festival, the Valley of Arts, has likely heard of the MűvészVölgy Kúria in Kapolcs. The complex of buildings located in the town center isn’t just bustling with life during the summer festival: it reflects the cultural diversity of the Valley of Arts all year round.

The Mansion and its programs are open to the public free of charge year-round as part of the Valley of Arts’ cultural mission. The space serves as both a permanent home for a significant collection of contemporary art and a venue for numerous active and cultural programs. Without claiming to be exhaustive, the annual program lineup includes “instrument petting zoos,” concerts, dance parties, and various physical activity programs – such as e-bike tours, running groups, yoga, and preschool gymnastics.

Hello Hungary’s tip: The Kuthy Café is located in the main building of the MűvészVölgy Kúria, where, in addition to excellent coffee, you can sample delicacies from local producers. On the ground floor, the office of the Völgy Tourism Association warmly welcomes visitors, where you can obtain all the necessary information for exploring the Balaton Uplands. If you’d like to take a piece of the MűvészVölgy Kúria and the Völgy atmosphere home with you, be sure to visit the gift shop.

And speaking of the Valley’s atmosphere: in 2026, we’ll have even more reasons to head to Kapolcs. The 35th anniversary Valley of the Arts will feature numerous new additions: this year, the legendary Bánkitó Festival is also moving to the Valley, specifically to Gástya-Árok as a separate venue. In addition to public and cultural discussions, underground music programs will also enrich the lineup, giving the alternative scene an even stronger presence at the 2026 festival. The Klastrom venue will also return for the anniversary year, where light projections and special video installations will bring the ruins to life each evening. The festival has also won the international Eventex Sustainability Award for its sustainability efforts: for example, as one of this year’s most exciting developments, a composting system will help recycle organic waste generated on-site. As for the musical lineup, performers such as Carson Coma, the Bagossy Brothers Company, Analog Balaton, the Bohemian Betyars, and Quimby will be appearing, while the Valley’s iconic courtyards and art programs also await the audience with new experiences between July 24 and August 2.
