Beer was first brewed in 1995 in this Békés county town, but in the early 2000s the large-scale production of beers became widespread and production was suspended out of necessity. Yet the ’Szarvasi Sörfőzde’ (Szarvas Brewery) opened again in 2010 and since then all manner of good beers have come out of this small brewery. The range of products includes the lager and its sour cherry version, the Irish red ale and also the unfiltered, the heavily hopped and the cold hopped versions – to mention just a few from the buyers’ favourites. It is worth booking a brewery visit combined with beer tasting.
