An Italian atmosphere awaits you all year round at the Pavilon in Balatonboglár
The Pavilon, which is full to capacity all year round, fortunately does not let hungry travellers down even in the gloomier months. The oven is still glowing in the colder weather, but the Pavilon classics are also on the menu: zuppa di pesce (Tuscan fish soup) and king crab pasta. These dishes are accompanied by autumn offers; pumpkin and chestnut cream soup, roasted calf's liver with apple and bacon, pork knuckle with radish salad, chestnut gnocchi, burgundy beef ragout and paris brest, which is a doughnut made of choux pastry. The owners, Róbert and Dorisz Antal-Tizedes, of course, reserve the right to make changes due to seasonality! The gastronomic haven in Balatonboglár is open from Thursday to Sunday in autumn, and from Friday to Sunday in the winter months. And as long as the weather allows, you can also sit out on the cosy terrace.

Divine breads and pizzas at the Nevesincs Pastry Workshop in Boglár
In recent years, nothing could have happened better to Balatonboglár than the opening of the Nevesincs Pastry Workshop. Owner Kata Szunyogh fell in love with sourdough after the age of fifty, and then decided to give space to her passion. She baked for her friends and acquaintances for more than a year, before her idea took shape and she opened her pastry workshop in the back of her apartment building in Balatonboglár. The breads, pastries and pizzas made with heart and soul are sold by her son, Alex, in the reception area. Interest has been huge since the beginning, so if you want to buy Kata's products, it is worth arriving early or placing your order in advance.
Excellent food, panoramic views and year-round opening hours at the Kedvesem Bistro in Balatonlelle
In Balatonlelle, on the Móló promenade, the team of the Kedvesem Bisztró awaits its guests with a magnificent panorama and excellent cuisine. The family business has long been a favourite of the locals, but guests come here not only from Lelle, and not only in the summer. Csaba Nagy and his family run a restaurant where almost every corner is a respectful memorial to their grandmother. "Grandma's Table" takes centre stage in the beautiful interior, and the history of the bistro can be read “packaged” in the appetizer of the Balaton gourmet selection. The menu mostly features traditional dishes, with seasonal variation. Those who prefer more special, international dishes can also find what they are looking for, but there are also vegetarian and vegan dishes. The desserts are worth a visit in themselves. A plus point is that most of the wines come from Balaton wineries.

Hello Hungary tip: Traditional pastries next door: Szalay Confectionery
If you are visiting Lelle, do not miss the latest pride of Csaba Nagy, the Szalay Confectionery, which opened next to the Kedvesem Bisztró – which is trying to revive the traditions of the town’s cult family. The menu includes desserts made from 150-year-old recipes found in the Szalay family's cellar – such as the nut-chocolate Károly cake or the crunchier Székely cake – as well as modern, French pastries. You can also have breakfast in the elegant, turn-of-the-century atmosphere, and the terrace offers a wonderful panorama of Lake Balaton. As one of the gastronomic gems in Balatonlelle, the Szalay Confectionery is open to guests all year round.
The Mecca of cakes is always open in Balatonlelle: the Geleta
Geleta is one of the most well-known family-run confectioneries in Balatonlelle and its surroundings, which does not give up on tradition and does not close even in the colder months. Guests can choose from the homemade selection in autumn, winter and spring, although with shortened opening hours. The counter is overflowing with tempting, fresh and fragrant desserts, salty and sweet cookies and special cakes, which are favourites of the locals and visitors, in every season. Only the ice cream is “taking a forced break”. The Lelle location offers excellent coffee, the Country Cake which is available all year round, as well as the hits of the holiday season, the traditional walnut and poppy seed roll, and the panettone that evokes the Christmas atmosphere.
