If you want to eat authentic Hungarian food at Lake Balaton, this is the gastropub to go to. The menu features classic dishes ranging from “tarhonya” (a traditional Hungarian egg-based pasta grain-soup) to homemade “disznótoros” (Hungarian sausages) and “aranygaluska” (a Hungarian dessert consisting of dumpling balls layered into a cake with vanilla custard-filled pockets). A favourite of many is the marrow toast: a slice of homemade bread served with a thick layer of greasy, spicy marrow and paprika. It's nice to spend a long time on the terrace in fine weather and to round off a hearty feast with a tasting of the region's wines.
