The “Halászcsárda” (Fisherman's Tavern) next to Helikon Beach in Keszthely opened its doors in 1934, thanks to the Festetics family. Closed in the 80's and reopened in 2012, the menu of this historic tavern is dominated by Hungarian flavours, including many fish dishes, but you can also order a two-person platter and meat-free versions. The prices are friendly, the portions are generous, and the thatched roof and the columned porch guarantee an authentic tavern experience, complete with the gypsy music that is often played in the garden.
