Gyomaendrőd Pig Slaughter Festival and Böllérpálinka Memorial Competition

On 14 November, the atmosphere of traditional village pig-slaughtering festivals will be recreated at the Lajos Varga Sports Hall, where sausage-stuffing and cooking teams will compete against one another. This is the seventeenth time the event has been held, and the focus is on the dishes and processes that once made pig slaughtering a full-day community event. The other star of the show is pálinka: the event includes the János Tímár Böllérpálinka Memorial Competition, where the judges take what goes into the glass very seriously.
