This is Ernő Bergmann's empire in Balatonfüred, where you should visit not only for the cakes but also for the selection of teas - Japanese green teas, Darjeeling, rooibos, and fruit teas - and black coffee made from Bergmann's blend. As well as the ever-popular French variation of “krémes” (vanilla creme, sandwiched between layers of crisp mille-feuille and finished with a dusting of confectioner's sugar), there are a variety of other cakes, tarts, savoury and sweet biscuits and ice creams. The air-conditioned interior is pleasantly cool even in the heat. The terrace can be used until late autumn, and when the cold weather arrives, the heated conservatory is the perfect place to enjoy sweet delights.
