Sas-kő kilátó

Not far from the highest point in the country, Kékes, you can find the 899-meter-high Sas-kő lookout. A nearly 100-year-old monument stands on one of the most beautiful rocky peaks in the Eastern Mátra. From the railing of the structure that forms the andesite tower, a stunning panorama opens out towards the Karancs-Medves region. Descending further, further areas can be seen in the distance from the cliff edge of Sas-kő: the Parádi Basin to the north, the Mátrabérc mountains to the east, and the silhouette of the Bükk unfolds on the horizon. You can park your car on Kékestető, from where you have to hike 1.8 kilometres to the lookout on the route of the National Blue Tour.
