Bohemian atmosphere, forest tranquillity in Börzsönyliget
Tucked away in the oak forest of Börzsönyliget, Bohém Kabin & Wellness is an excellent choice for a relaxing break with friends or a romantic getaway. This modern yet nature-inspired log cabin features a spacious terrace with panoramic views and its own wellness area, complete with an infrared sauna, a salt room and an outdoor hot tub. The cabin and its garden are for exclusive use, thus you can truly spend your time here in complete peace and quiet. And if you fancy getting out and about, the Börzsöny hiking trails and the sights of the Danube Bend are just a stone’s throw away.
Inner reflection amidst the scent of the forest in Domony Valley
The five-star Mythos Resort is a unique place, meticulously thought through down to the very last detail, where you’ll find a restaurant, the Falusi Udvar (‘Rural Courtyard’), a playhouse and a variety of accommodation options spread across 14 hectares. Among the accommodation options designed by the renowned interior designer Zoltán Varró, one of our favourites is the luxury forest lodge nestled amongst the acacia trees – there are 25 of them in total.
These ingenious cabins are visually separated from one another and situated in the immediate vicinity of nature; depending on the level of facilities, some feature a private wellness area. Whilst the ‘Forest Lodge Superior’ rooms feature a freestanding designer bath, the ‘Exclusive’ cabins offer a Finnish sauna in addition to the bath, and the ‘Luxury’ category provides an infrared sauna and a jacuzzi.
Right next to the accommodation, you can take a dip in a charming swimming lake, whilst guests can also make use of the infinity pool, the sauna area and the gym in the spa centre. Moreover, if you’d like to take part in some activities, there’s plenty on offer: Mythos regularly hosts horse-drawn carriage rides and equestrian displays, whilst a carriage ride into the woods for two – equipped with a generous picnic basket filled with mouth-watering food and drink – makes for a particularly romantic experience.
Romance amongst the treetops in Kismaros
A unique accommodation, situated nearly 5 metres above the ground at the Fészek Lombház (‘Nest Canopy House’), perched amongst the treetops above Kismaros in the forests of the Börzsöny. From the contemporary interior, furnished with natural materials, you can admire the forest through huge windows, whilst the panoramic terrace is a world-class spot for stargazing.
The private wellness area features an outdoor jacuzzi and a Finnish sauna, both of which also offer views of the trees. And, who knows, you might even catch a glimpse of some forest animals whilst you’re relaxing.
Minimalist luxury in Dunabogdány
Located on the edge of the Dunabogdány forest, the unique, stilted ForRest Boutique Cabin is designed primarily for couples. Thanks to the huge glass surfaces, you can lose yourself in the view of the forest, whilst the minimalist luxury is complemented by private wellness facilities: a separate wellness house with a sauna and a hot tub, as well as a seasonally heated outdoor pool. In addition to the standard provisions in the cabin – wine, coffee and tea – you can request a selection of chocolates, champagne, breakfast and dinner; indeed, if you wish, the owners will even set up the cosy Igloo for you. The entire property is available for your exclusive use, therefore you can relax with your partner in an intimate setting. Given its proximity to the Danube Bend, a leisurely day trip or a visit to Visegrád can easily be fitted into your weekend.
A lakeside retreat amongst the hills of Etyek
Taviv House is situated on the shore of a private lake, on the hillside of Etyek, and bears the hallmark of the award-winning international architectural studio HELLO WOOD. This four-person accommodation, which blends seamlessly into the natural surroundings, is particularly worth considering if you’re looking for a quiet hideaway close to nature. The two separate sections of the house are connected by a summer kitchen with a concrete oven; from the bedrooms of this fully equipped, self-catering accommodation and the 135-square-metre terrace overlooking the lake, you can enjoy views of the lake and the surrounding countryside. This unique cottage also features a Finnish sauna with panoramic views.
