At the end of May, the heart of Szeged once again comes alive with clinking wine glasses, concerts, and spring evenings that stretch long into the night. The 31st Szeged Wine Festival is one of Hungary’s largest open-air wine events, bringing hundreds of Hungarian wines to Széchenyi Square, where visitors can discover the offerings of different wine regions directly from the winemakers themselves. From light, refreshing whites and characterful reds to exceptional sparkling wines, there is plenty to explore, whether you’re stopping by for a single evening or spending the entire weekend. Naturally, the wines are accompanied by a diverse gastronomic offering and live music, making the festival much more than a traditional wine tasting.
