The final challenge of the year: running through the hills of Zala
Some see out the old year with champagne, whilst others do so with a serious running feat. On 31 December in Zalaegerszeg, the Egerszegi Mountain Man Marathon will be held for the 32nd time, presenting a far tougher challenge than traditional New Year’s Eve runs. Running up and down the hills of the Zala region, the final kilometres of the year are sure to be truly memorable. What makes this race special lies not only in the terrain but also in the timing. The cold of late December, the wintry landscape and the varied road conditions require a completely different level of preparation to that of a spring city run.
