The vineyard of the Count Degenfeld family at Hegyalja is an organic farm where a substantial part of the plantation is made up of the typical grape varieties in the wine region, such as Furmint, Hárslevelű and Yellow Muscat, which are used mostly to make varietal wine and sweet Tokaj. The vineyard’s castle hotel has a 200-year-old wine cellar that you can visit virtually, but if aim for a fuller experience, go down in person and wander around the cellar while tasting wine. The castle restaurant’s menu is regularly reviewed and renewed, but it always offers customers a number of dishes that match the high quality of the wine made at the vineyard. After prior booking, you can take part in a wine tasting and wine dinner.
