A sweet tradition in Szomolya: the town is dressed in cherry-red again!
The world-famous short-stemmed black cherry is given a worthy celebration during the Cherry Festival in Szomolya which is traditional now. This sweet fruit is not only spectacular, but also a real gastronomic treasure, for which the locals have dreamed up an exciting cavalcade of programmes: the repertoire includes wine tasting, children's programmes, a craft fair, concerts and a folk playhouse. If you want to relax more actively, you can hike to the nearby Beehive Stones, where you can experience the special intertwining of nature and history.
