Veszprémi várbörtön

One of the newest museums of Veszprém was established in an unusual place: in the former dungeon. The building served as a penitentiary for a long time, and it was finally closed in 2003. More than twenty years later, a special interactive exhibition was opened in the place of the former cells, where we can learn about the history of the prison and its role in the life of the town. You can get an insight into how crime and punishment worked in different eras and find out who was once held here. The exciting historical overview is complemented by numerous current curiosities and installations about the modern world of prison life.
