The Szászvár Castle, named after Bálint Alsáni, Bishop of Pécs, is located in a magical part of the Mecsek. In the 14th century, it was still only a manor house, but over the centuries, the castle has been continuously expanded. The much-seen building was a former border castle, then fell into Turkish hands, was burnt down several times and once even blown up. But its fate has turned for the better and today it welcomes visitors in all its glory.
