Near the western bank of the Rába, in the centre of Sárvár, you can find the Nádasdy Castle, which is the centre of the cultural life of the town. The intact medieval castle is open all year round for children and adults alike. The museum has permanent and temporary exhibitions – the internationally renowned Hussar exhibition, for example, shows the legacy of the Nádasdy and several Hungarian Hussar regiments. Concerts recalling the music of the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and the Baroque era can be heard in the banquet hall, on the castle stage or in the chamber hall, and there are also theatre performances, public meetings and children’s programmes.
