Festetics Kastély és Park

Close to the southeastern tip of Lake Balaton is the neoclassical castle built according to the plans of Mihály Pollack, surrounded by the largest English park in Hungary: due to its size, which is comparable to New York’s Central Park, this impressive park was already a curiosity at the beginning of the 19th century. You can wander around for hours and even go fishing in the lakes of the castle park. The one-storey, U-shaped castle is a popular film shooting location. Another curiosity is that its contemporaneous tennis court is still in active use.
