The restored medieval castle of Hollókő, a World Heritage village, is perched on a 400-metre-high cliff among the mountains of the Cserhát. You can travel back in time within the walls of the fortress, which from above looks like a spiral-formed snail shell. There are many exhibitions and activities for families all year round: visitors can even take part in an unusual medieval “history lesson” led by one of the knights of St. Ladislaus.
