Szendrő vára

One of the most significant fortifications in Borsod County. The 16th-17th century building standing on the castle hill in Szendrő is now in ruins, but its upper tower offers a wonderful view of the Bódva Valley. The site is open to visitors all year round and is particularly interesting from a historical point of view. It is worth visiting the visitor center, where a permanent exhibition provides information about the history of the castle and the surrounding area. There is also a cozy café and an adventure castle on site: the latter is sure to be a big hit with children.
