Alternative concerts and community programmes are moving to Kapolcs
In 2026, the Bánkitó Festival will continue at a new venue: between 24 July and 2 August, the series of events will be held in Kapolcs as part of the Valley of Arts. In recent years, the festival has become one of the defining gathering places of Hungary’s alternative music and cultural scene, where public and civic programmes play an important role alongside concerts. The programme features indie, electronic, and underground concerts, DJ sets, talks, workshops, and cultural events. The organizers place a special emphasis on social and community issues, while the courtyards and outdoor venues in Kapolcs lend the event an intimate atmosphere. The daytime events are followed by concerts and parties that go on until dawn.
