What on earth can be made from an empty paper roll or a few plastic bottle tops? The Eco Weekend at Katica Farm in Patca shows children that environmental awareness isn’t necessarily about sacrifice, but rather a matter of creative thinking. During the themed craft sessions, everyday, used materials are given a new lease of life, whilst families can learn about the possibilities of recycling in a fun way. At Katica Tanya, sustainability is also part of day-to-day operations: a significant proportion of the toys require no external energy source or are powered by renewable energy. Alongside the themed programmes, the 13-hectare adventure centre’s petting zoo, outdoor play areas and indoor attractions also offer opportunities for a full day’s fun.
