The Stonemason’s House Visitor Centre in Tata welcomes visitors with an interactive exhibition, culinary programmes (such as coffee roasting or beer brewing), furthermore, pottery and craft workshops. From here, you can also enter Hungary’s only surviving beer tower that is open to the public, and if you climb the 175 steps, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Tata and the surrounding area! The Jakab Fellner Lookout Tower, rising at the foot of Calvary Hill, once functioned as a shot-making workshop: molten lead was dripped from the top of the structure, 37 metres above the ground, into a bucket of water on the ground floor, which is how the tiny pellets were made. Another interesting feature of the lookout tower is that it houses a Foucault pendulum.
