In the footsteps of witches on the border of Hungary and Slovakia. The Boszorkány-kő, located a short walk from the 625-metre-high Salgó Castle, is the largest basalt plateau in Europe. The peak, also called Kis-Salgó, is actually a layered basalt peak, from which a stunning 360-degree panorama opens up. According to one legend, it was here that the last of women accused of witchcraft were seen, but some believe that mysterious witchcraft still happens in the forest today. The Boszorkány-kő geological nature trail is also worth a visit!
