Then and Now Vehicle Expo – a journey through time on the island (April 25–26)
The past and present meet at the Then and Now Vehicle Expo, where more than one hundred vintage vehicles—trucks, cars, motorcycles, and bicycles - line up on Prímás Island at the Rugby Club area. In addition to classic models, modern vehicles will also be presented, so visitors can experience the world of vehicle history and the present at the same time.
This two-day, free-to-attend event is not only a spectacular exhibition but also a community experience. On Saturday, the evening program begins with DJ Dominique, followed by a concert by P.A.S.O., bringing a true festival atmosphere. On Sunday, in addition to the exhibition, a performance by Marika Oszvald adds color to the program.

Lantern Boat Parade – lights on the Little Danube (April 30)
One of Esztergom’s most spectacular free events, the Lantern Boat Parade, will be held again this year. The evening procession of creatively decorated and illuminated boats and small vessels creates a magical atmosphere on the Little Danube.
The program begins in the afternoon along the promenade, where food trucks and community activities await visitors. The parade starts at 20:45 and lasts until 22:00, with the atmosphere hosted by Zoltán Szujó and DJ Juhász Laci.
The evening continues at the Rugby Club area: from 22:00, Peter Srámek will perform, followed by Zsolt Zoller at 23:00, turning the event into a full evening of entertainment.
Esztergom Days – celebration in the heart of the city (May 1–3)
Esztergom Days is one of the city’s most important community events, linked to the celebration of its county-level city status. For three days, Széchenyi Square transforms into a festival hub, with family programs during the day and free concerts in the afternoon and evening.
Performers include 4S Street, Follow The Flow, Kowalsky meg a Vega, and Jóvilágvan, bringing concert experiences and festival vibes to the city. Children’s highlights include performances by the Kiskalász Band, the Buborék Ensemble, the ISZKIRI Band, and Brandnyúl.
The program is enriched with a magic show, quiz show, dog show, and the Sulifest (school festival), while throughout the event families can enjoy face painting, glitter tattoos, a bouncy castle, a nostalgia carousel, VR experiences, and craft workshops.
Széchenyi Square will also feature a rich gastronomic selection and a craft fair, making Esztergom Days a complete experience not only in programs but in atmosphere as well.
One weekend is not enough
These three free events together create such a rich program lineup that it’s worth visiting Esztergom for several days. Whether it’s an exhibition, an evening by the Danube, or a vibrant festival, the city reveals a new face each time.
This spring, Esztergom is not just a destination—it’s an experience that keeps calling you back.
