Carabiner, coordination and comfort zone – Why is it worth visiting Zamárdi Adventure Park?

Adventure park in numbers: you have to try this all!
As going to an adventure park is an excellent family programme, it’s not surprising that it has been designed to comply with the needs of children. The wow-experience for the little ones is ensured by a 2-kilometre narrow gauge railway, a labyrinth, and several kids’ courses. The latter are compatible with children because the obstacles are easier and they are closer to the ground thus decreasing the fear of heights. Adults can test their abilities on the more than 200 obstacles of 18 courses, but there are multiple zip lines and a 12-metre-high jump tower as well, which is a kind of “free fall simulator”.
High ropes course outfit: what to wear to an adventure park?
Although what you wear when you face the obstacles may depend on the weather, it’s worth keeping a few things in mind. For manoeuvring on the high ropes course we recommend wearing a pair of at least knee-length leisure pants, as the combination of the safety harness and very short pants can easily cause unpleasant moments.
On the upper part of the body it’s best to wear a comfortable (even sleeveless) T-shirt, but you should take into account that at some obstacles which require you to climb like a sloth you might be putting your chest on public display. For ladies wearing a sports bra or a comfortable well-fitting bikini top under the outerwear can be a good solution. A pair of hard-wearing trainers will be helpful in overcoming the obstacles, as will the gloves that you get on site to protect your hands from the cable’s not too skin-friendly touch.
After the practice course there is no obstacle to facing the obstacles
At the practice course it’s possible to learn the correct use of carabiners, and get to know the most common types of obstacles. For the sake of your own and your companions’ safety don’t skip this session, also because there are some adventure masters around who patiently answer even your strangest questions. Before you start the real obstacle course it’s worth visiting the restroom. Only a few things can be more frustrating than feeling the call of nature while stepping between shaky wooden stakes.
Resolving the “I can’t do this!” dilemma
Although – thank God – we never see each other’s thoughts not even in an adventure park, you can be almost sure that at more challenging obstacles, other people are also afraid of failing. However, pushing ourselves in an adventure park is also good for facing our fears, getting out of our comfort zone, thus it’s worth being brave in the most fearful moments. In the worst case you fall off and simply swing a bit in the belt, but most probably you’ll cope with the challenge. And this can give you a boost not only on the course, but in real life as well, since you can experience that fact that you are capable of much more than you thought!
Other physiological effects
Enjoying an adventure park can count as a great deal of exercise, therefore it can be an ideal programme for those who are reluctant to put on their running shoes. Please note that the operation of adventure parks is tied to good weather, regardless of seasons.
Additional tip: the above mentioned cone-oasis is called ‘Tóparti Fagyizó’ (Ice cream shop by the lake), and the gastro guide reveals that it’s worth visiting it not only because it has more than 30 types of handcrafted ice cream!
