There’s something special about the way the September sun still warms the cellars carved into the tuff, the grapes are already on their way to the presses, and the clinking of glasses and music drift out from terraces everywhere. During the all-day program titled “Harvest in Szépasszony Valley,” you can see the area at its most beautiful: the wine region is already celebrating the new vintage, while the wineries welcome visitors with open doors and a wide variety of tastings. Throughout the day, it’s worth taking a leisurely stroll through the valley, stopping for a glass of Eger wine here and there, sampling snacks perfect for the harvest, and listening to the music echoing through the streets. In addition to the wineries, vendors selling handmade goods, family activities, and stage performances ensure that the harvest weekend is not just about wine, but also about spending time together.
