The hunting lodge of the Wenckheim family was built in the centre of Doboz by Antal Cziger from Gyula, next to which a romantic-style stable and coach house were built according to the plans of Miklós Ybl. In the course of time, the building complex has been renovated several times, it has ceased to be a listed building and is now home to the students of Doboz Primary School. Behind the building, surrounded by a branch of the Holt-Fekete-Körös River, lies a 3.7-hectare English park, now a nature reserve. At its highest point, the neo-Romanesque Chapel of the Holy Cross and the Wenckheim Crypt, known as the “jewel in the crown” of the area were built upon the order of Count Dénes Wenckheim – they both are worth a walk through the park.
