On 1 August, the Iron Pot Festival will once again be held in Hegykő, where the traditional village fair atmosphere is complemented by a cooking competition, cultural programmes and evening concerts. The event is one of the village’s key summer community events, offering leisure activities for all ages. The programme centres on the open-pot cooking competition, where groups of friends and local communities pit their skills against one another. Throughout the day, folk dance performances, children’s programmes, craft workshops and local performers entertain the audience, whilst the evening concludes with a live music concert and a street party. Alongside the culinary delights, the hospitality of the Fertő region and the sense of community are also key elements of the event.
