Amper Club – Pécs

If it is about Pécs, then it is about culture, but it doesn’t stop at the early Christian tombs or the mosque of Gazi Qasim Pasha – nightlife in Pécs is also a delight. The Amper Club hosts both national and international performers, and the range of genres is extremely wide. At the club, the focus is on a quality musical experience rather than a bogged-down one. Amper Club’s ars poetic is: “we want nothing more than a good, modern club where music is the most important thing”, and this quality is provided by a high-end sound system called Funktion One, which is used in the best clubs around the world. The Amper stage has seen the likes of Henri Gonzo and the Paper Dragons, Beton.Hofi and Jazzbois.

Petőfi Kultúrtanszék (‘Cultural Department’) – Székesfehérvár

Located in the heart of Fejér county, the Petőfi Kultúrtanszék is also the venue for a variety of programmes: the former Petőfi Cinema building has become a paradise for young people (and other age groups) looking for fun. The Kultúrtanszék is open every day, with university parties on Wednesdays and live music concerts on weekends. In addition to the themed parties and weekday afternoon coffees (or spritzers), you can also catch bands like Hiperkarma or Anna And The Barbies in Fehérvár. All in all, it is worth keeping your eyes open and watching what’s on offer!

Helynekem – Miskolc

Helynekem was awarded the title of Hungary’s best rural club in 2014 and 2017, which is no coincidence – the cultural space and entertainment venue on the main street of Miskolc offers a diverse programme: on weekdays, there are literary evenings, monthly slam poetry competitions and on Thursdays, there is even a dance club. Of course, the weekends are also packed with concerts – Friday and Saturday will feature underground bands, followed by real raging parties. Helynekem offers something for everyone, regardless of age or interest, whether it’s a great concert, an all-night party or a literary evening.

Rómer House – Győr

The Rómer House in the downtown of Győr hosts a variety of cultural programmes, similarly: For example, the latest films can be seen regularly in the garden cinema, and on Wednesdays, there is an “eclectic e-music adventure with lounging”, but the real big hit is perhaps the Rómer House’s concert programme – the venue has hosted artists from the Hungarian music scene such as Krúbi, Lil Frakk and Blahaluisiana, and the list is probably not over, with many more big names to come in the seedy Rómer.

Head to a big city in the countryside, where you can explore our country’s rich cultural and historical heritage by day, and at night, you can find yourself at the best concert or one of the most fun parties of your life!
