Nádasdy-Széchenyi Várkastély (Egervár)

The castle of Egervár is one of the best preserved in Hungary, a late Renaissance-style castle with four Italian bastions, a regular rectangular shape and a clean form. It was an important border castle, first mentioned in 1288 as castrum Egerwar. Today it is a unique Renaissance experience centre, where you can see – and literally touch – exhibitions with interactive elements and modern technology. In the summer, the programme includes theatre and music performances.
