Szent Egyed bencés apátság romjai, Somogyvár

The largest Benedictine monastery in Hungary from the 11th century. The Benedictine abbey in Somogyvár began to be built around 1070. The building located on a 2.5-hectare area includes a Romanesque basilica and a Gothic monastery; it is true that they have been transformed several times over the centuries. The ruins belong to the Szent László memorial site, where you can see several permanent exhibitions and the presentation of the Szent László promenade. There is a gift shop and a café on site.
