Szent Mihály domb és Kápolna

The St. Michael's Votive Fishermen's Chapel stands at the top the 136-metre-high St. Michael's Hill above Vonyarcvashegy. It is the only fishermen's chapel not only in Hungary, but in all of Europe. The building commemorates a fishing legend from 1739, when 46 fishermen were in danger on the frozen Lake Balaton and miraculously escaped. In gratitude, they built a shrine to Archangel St. Michael. The chapel offers a breathtaking panorama: the sparkling waters of Lake Balaton, the Keszthely Mountains, and the monadnocks can all be seen from here.
