Diósgyőri vár

In the foothills of the Bükk Mountains, in a beautiful natural setting, lies the distinctive Diósgyőr Castle, also known as the “castle of the queens”. The massive Gothic building, dating back to the time of the great Hungarian Conquest, became a famous fortress far and wide in the era of King Louis the Great. After its amortization in the 18th century, a large-scale reconstruction of the castle began in the 1950’s, and today it offers a very rich programme of activities.
