Batthyány-Strattmann-kastély

Close to Szombathely and the Rába river, in the centre of Körmend, you will find the Batthyány-Strattmann Castle, built in the classicist style, which is the jewel of the town and one of the most important monuments in the country. Within its walls, you can visit several permanent exhibitions, such as a collection of shoe history and the exhibition “Körmend and the Centuries of the Batthyánys”. It is worth visiting the banquet hall and salon on the second floor, as well as the dining room in the bastion, which is reminiscent of the time of Ödön Batthyány-Strattmann, the Duke of Batthyány, in the last quarter of the 19th century.
