The legendary animals may grow up to 15 centimetres, and with their decorative appearance they are guaranteed to enchant us. The gigantic moths transported from Japan are actually fugitives of a failed Austrian experiment of the 1950s. However, there’s no need to panic, they are very peaceful animals. And if we find them under artificial light, we can observe, undisturbed, these specimens that have fallen into a trance.
Let’s keep our eyes open, since the most gorgeous moths of oak and beech forests will start flying in July: the Japanese oak silk moths!
