Let's see where it is worth splashing in our country!
Hot water diving - Luminous springs of Tata

Tata is a beautiful town where history and culture meet. It hides many experiences, but perhaps few people know that it is not only famous for its historical attractions, but also for an impressive diving site. The Fényes Forrás of Tata is a real treasure trove for divers, where, thanks to the karst water, you can float in crystal clear water at 18-23°C even in winter. At the place known as the cradle of Hungarian scuba diving, you can dive in four lakes in which pike, carp, and small fish swim in waters overgrown with water-weed. The springs erupt from the bottom of the lake, creating a spectacle in the quartz sand as if the bottom of the lake were boiling. An excellent beginner-level diving site, with an established base and washrooms, after the dives you can relax in a hot water tub, which is a special feature of the site.
In crystal clear depth - Rudabánya
Rudabánya is located only 37 kilometres from Miskolc, and it is a town with an impressive quarry pond, which has become a dive site of unique beauty thanks to the old iron ore mining. With an area of around 24 hectares, its lake is the deepest – and, according to many, the most beautiful – standing water in the area, with a depth of up to 60 meters in some places. The combination of the steep rock walls, the clear blue-green water and the surrounding forests offers a picturesque sight. Due to the idyllic environment, Rudabánya is becoming more and more popular not only among domestic but also foreign divers. You can dive in the lake from both ends and it offer areas with different characteristics: at one end the depth gradually increases, while at the other end steep rock walls break down under the water, offering a varied and interesting diving experience.

Water, water, clean water: Dorog
The Palatinus lake in Dorog welcomes divers and those interested in diving with a family-friendly diving base located at the foot of Pilis in a wonderful environment. The lake was originally created as an artificial quarry pond in the fifties, as a result of sand extraction. Its clearness is due to the mining technology used, which ensured the immaculateness of the bottom of the lake with compressed air and pumped sand. Its name was given by the bathers, who believe that its water is as high quality as that of the Palatinus Strandfürdő in Budapest, and indeed, it is one of the cleanest lakes in the country. It is rich in freshwater fish, such as carp, amur, crucian, bream and groundling, and thanks to its cleanness, this colourful wildlife can be enjoyed even at a viewing distance of 7-8 meters. Its specialty is the freshwater jellyfish, which is rare in domestic lakes and is also an indicator of the unparalleled cleanness of the water. On the beach there are comfortable covered rest areas, changing rooms, tables and coverings are available for assembling the equipment.
Starting from the crystal-clear lakes of the Fényes Források of Tata, through the impressive quarry pond of Rudabánya, to the homely diving base of the Palatinus lake in Dorog - the domestic diving sites hide experiences rich in adventures. Let's dive into the fascinating world of diving!
