Sometimes we feel it would enhance our productivity if we could spend the working day outdoors in beautiful surroundings. Or somewhere that's not your home or office, where you can meet people with similar lifestyles and share experiences. Well, that is what a community office and community living is for.
Sometimes we feel it would enhance our productivity if we could spend the working day outdoors in beautiful surroundings. Or somewhere that's not your home or office, where you can meet people with similar lifestyles and share experiences. Well, that is what a community office and community living is for.

In recent years, we have increasingly moved away from the classic office job: more and more people want to have a home office, at least 1-2 days a week, or even full-time. There are many undeniable benefits, such as getting rid of the commuting time and starting the working day from the comfort of your own home. However, stuck at home as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, many of us have experienced that our working environment at home is not always ideal: sometimes we have to set the table, or our lunch burns, and we realise that the day has gone by and we have not finish our tasks for that day. Or vice versa: because the same space is used for work and leisure, we cannot completely get away from our tasks, which is frustrating at first, but in the long run can very easily lead to burnout.

The question arises: where can we work in a more relaxed yet productive way than in a typical office environment? To solve this dilemma, the idea of co-working offices was born in the last decade. These are new flexible workspaces where you have everything you need for an ideal working day: fast internet, inspiring surroundings, delicious coffee, but you do not have to sign a long-term lease: you can rent a space for any length of time. In contrast to the classic office workplace, people working in a community office do not usually work for the same company, and many of them are freelancers. And given the opportunity to work from anywhere, why not choose one of our favourite domestic destinations, Lake Balaton?

Contemporary mini gallery in your community office

Aimed at freelancers, digital nomads and start-ups, K125 coworking Balaton is located in Keszthely. The main focus of the community office is to create community and creative space. Nothing is better proof of the latter than their own contemporary mini-gallery, created by local artists to the delight of the office staff.

Community office from a cow shed

The PortusHome in Vászoly offers a truly complex offer: a meeting point, a community space, a fully equipped office and accommodation. All this has been dreamed up on the beautiful slopes of the Balaton Uplands, 15 km from Balatonfüred. The community office space has been converted from an old cow shed, with special attention to business needs: cosy workstations, meeting rooms, stable, fast internet, projectors and the inevitable flip charts. This has been combined with the natural heritage of the area: open spaces, natural materials and a huge terrace where you can enjoy a coffee as well as work on your laptop. The community office is frequented by a wide range of visitors, including corporate teams, digital nomads, individual travellers, local residents and holidaymakers. Some people come just to relax, others for team building or training, and others come specifically for the community. Besides working together, the PortusHome is also about community accommodation and community living. Special apartments with two and three beds with private kitchens, spacious rooms and terraces are available. They regularly organise business networking breakfasts, community lunches and other gastronomic and sports events.
