Tirpák Festival is an annual fest, traditionally held in Nyíregyháza Kossuth tér in the fall - this year on September 14-15. The two-day-long festival presents delicacies which are typical
in the so-called "Szabolcs" area of North-East Hungary, such as sour and salty dishes made of apple, cabbage, corn, plum, potato, smoked meats and walnut.
