Plums crackle, jam simmers – a day of traditional celebrations in Gyomaendrőd
On 5 September, the Plum Jam Cooking Day will be held for the tenth time at the St. Anthony Community Centre in Gyomaendrőd, where the focus will be on traditional jam-making. The event evokes old rural customs: plum jam is made in cauldrons, whilst visitors can learn the tricks of the traditional craft. As well as jam-making, visitors can sample plum dumplings, plum cakes and other local delicacies, whilst craft workshops and family activities add to the day’s entertainment. The event is both a gastronomic experience and a community celebration, centred on traditions, flavours and cooking together.
