The Debrecen Street Music Days will be held for the sixth time on 17–18 July, when the streets and squares of Debrecen’s city centre will once again be filled with live music. At this two-day, free event, more than 50 musicians and groups will perform simultaneously at multiple venues, thus, whilst strolling through the heart of the city, you’re bound to stumble upon a new concert on almost every corner. The line-up includes up-and-coming artists, street music veterans, amateur bands and acoustic groups alike. The concerts will take place on Hal Street, around the area of Csapó Street and Dósa Nádor Square, by the glass pyramid next to the Great Church, at the Ifiház and on Medgyessy Promenade. The organisers’ aim is for music to step out of concert halls and become a natural part of the city’s public spaces – without admission fees or barriers, accessible to everyone.
