Csókakői Vár

The castle on the small cliff of the southern slope of the Vértes Mountains is visible from afar! It was not by chance that the fortress was built here: from here, the “military road to Fehérvár” was clearly visible. After the fall of Székesfehérvár, it fell into Turkish hands, and in the 18th century, it slowly deteriorated. But thanks to the archaeological excavations and reconstruction that have begun in recent decades, it is looking more and more like its former self.
