A special tip for your adventure in Pécs! One of the best-known fountains in the town is the unmissable sight of Széchenyi Square. The well, built in 1912, was kept in a warehouse for 18 years before it was finally opened to the public in 1930 after the First World War. The masterpiece, made in memory of Vilmos Zsolnay, is four metres high and four impressively coloured gargoyles made of eosin guard its water. The inspiring inscription on the well is definitely worth reading!
