Hungary's oldest puppet theatre, the Kövér Béla Puppet Theatre, is celebrating its 80th anniversary! To mark this wonderful milestone, the extraordinary three-day SZINkópé Festival will take place from 21–23 August in Erzsébet Grove (Erzsébet Liget), Újszeged.
Beneath the cooling shade of the grove's majestic plane trees, visitors of all ages can embark on a seven-stop adventure trail that brings to life some of the most remarkable chapters in the puppet theatre's 80-year history. This exciting, free afternoon experience is not to be missed! At the same time, the adventure area also serves as a unique interactive exhibition, where Ágnes Kiss, Director of the theatre, and Jankó Schneider, Artistic Director, will personally guide visitors through the fascinating story of the Kövér Béla Puppet Theatre. On the festival's second day, 22 August, the Újszeged Open-Air Stage will host a spectacular concert by Judit Halász. Please note: Registration is required for this event.
