Balaton Uplands Autumn Cycle Tour

Even at the end of October, there’s no need to put your bike away for the winter yet: the 65-kilometre route of the Balaton Uplands Autumn Cycle Tour starts in Balatonfüred, then passes through 13 villages on its way to Veszprém, before returning to Lake Balaton. After Csopak, Paloznak and Lovas, the landscape alternates between forests, fields and villages, and on the return journey, the lake comes back into view as you approach from Balatonalmádi. The route is entirely on tarmac, mostly along roads with little traffic and cycle paths. This is not a race: within the six-hour time limit, everyone can complete the circuit – which features a 600-metre elevation gain – at their own pace. The start is at 10.00 a.m. at the Balaton Leisure and Conference Centre, and a raffle awaits those returning in the afternoon.
